This symposium is part of an initiative of the International Geoscience Programme, a joint endeavor of UNESCO and the International Union of Geological Sciences. The main objective of this event is to bring a world perspective of submarine mass movments and their consqeuences by assembling excellent contributions from active international researchers, academic institutions and the oil and gas industries.
